August 2013 - Carbon Neutral status for Brand Rex
WNS are proud to be associated with Brand Rex as they recently announced that their global organisational and operational activities achieved Carbon Neutral Status in accordance to PAS2060 - a new carbon neutrality standard launched by the British Standards Institute (BSI), developed with input from government, public and the private sector.
In order to reduce their carbon footprint, Brand Rex ‘Green Initiatives’ included changing the way they heated their factory in Scotland. A change from oil to gas created a 17% reduction in emissions from previous years. Brand Rex introduced ‘paperless’ invoicing and purchase orders creating a huge 65% reduction on emissions relating to deliveries. Sea transportation has also been increased and reduced their air freight down by 18%. Brand Rex have also replaced their lighting system allowing them to put large areas under automatic light switching, thus saving energy and creating a better working environment for all staff.
